It’s not. This is the scene Lynn U. Miller photographed — stopped completely, a safe distance away, with no cars behind — at the Cross Highway/North Avenue intersection tonight.
There were no filters either. Her windshield was wet, and the intriguing “look” comes from the glare of the lights.

A bit of beauty on Sturges Highway, captured by Lynn U. Miller this morning.
Wheeler House — home of the Westport Historical Society — is the most famous old structure on Avery Place.
But don’t overlook the beautiful blue building across the street.
Elaine Marino, Diane Silfen and Julia Schorr have not. Last week’s photo challenge was the toughest ever. It also drew the most comments.
It took over 50 guesses — and some transcontinental teamwork — but Bobbie Herman finally identified the spot in Westport where you can find both the Confederate battle flag and a swastika.
They’re part of posters hanging in the Staples High School auditorium. One was for Players’ long-ago production “John’s Brown Body”; the other was for the more recent “Cabaret.” Click here to see the photos, and read all the back-and-forth.

Alert “06880” photographer Lynn U. Miller was at Stew Leonard’s yesterday morning.
(“Don’t ask why anyone in their right mind would be at Stew’s the morning of Thanksgiving,” she says.)
She spotted this gigantic billboard:
The lucky turkey is not — as at least one customer thought — the bird selected for dinner at Stew’s home.
No — the “lucky turkey’ is actually on display in an enclosure at the entrance to the World’s Largest Dairy Store.

The lucky turkey — which lives to celebrate another day — is named Madison. Someone at the front desk told Lynn she (the turkey) is named for Stew Jr.’s daughter.
Sure, President Obama can pardon a turkey. Far more impressive for Stew to do so — saving countless kids from asking their parents, “Is that our dinner?”

Several interesting sculptures frame the Westport Library’s lower entrance, near the Riverwalk and Taylor parking lot.
But the most eye-catching of all was created by Mother Nature. A massive oak tree sits on Jesup Green.
The other day, Lynn U. Miller captured it in all its autumnal beauty.

I had no idea so many Westporters are hazardous materials experts.
Elaine Marino, Pete Seidman, Bob Colson and Roy Fuchs all knew not only that last week’s photo challenge showed a warning sign at the front and back entrances to PPG Paints in Compo Shopping Center — they also explained what the colors meant. (They warn firefighters of the hazards they’ll encounter inside.)

The only bear sighting Westporters don’t mind — in fact, we love it — is the one in front of the Exxon station, on the Post Road headed toward Southport.
