Photo Challenge #595

Westport is — or was — a “Tree City USA.”

We’ve got a sign to prove it.

It’s right there on Jesup Green.

But 1) the honor might be outdated, and 2) not many people ever notice the sign. (Click here to see.)

Morley Boyd, Lynn Untermeyer Miller, Robert Mitchell and Sal Liccione were the 4 who did, when we posted last week’s “Photo Challenge.”

And no one offered up a back story about it.

So it’s on to this week’s puzzler.

  4. It’s not Fairfield county bank. I just looked on Google Streets. I thought the same thing. Gotta be elsewhere.

  6. Golden Shadows – named after one of the scents developed by its original owners. Golden Shadows is also the name of the masoleum in Willowbrook Cemetery where said owners are interred.

    Baron Walter Langer von Langendorff died in 1983. He Is buried in Willowbrook Cemetery, the very large white mausoleum at the exit of the park.

    Last I heard, his second wife was living at the Pierre in Manhattan.
