Update: Threatening Call To Schools Believed To Be “False Alarm”

“06880” has learned that Westport police have every reason to believe the lockdown at Staples High School is a false alarm.

Multiple schools across the state received the same threat. As a precaution, police are conducting a room by room search.

A source told “06880” that SWAT teams had been sent to schools in Stamford and Bridgeport earlier today.

  1. No doubt planned to cause the most chaos, as most law enforcement is currently attending the funeral of the two Bristol officers who were killed last week.

  2. Our son attends JM Wright Technical High School in Stamford. At 9:25 am today, we received the following announcement:

Wright Tech in Secure School Mode

    Parents, Students and Staff:

At this time, we are in secure school mode out of an abundance of caution. That means school operations in the building continue as normal, but we are not letting visitors into our building. There is no threat to our building, however, we received reports of a potential incident at Stamford High School. We have no further details at this time, but as they become available we will share them.

Please email me with concerns or questions.

At 9:58 am, we received the following announcement:

    Secure School Mode Lifted

Jayme Beckham • Friday, Oct 21 at 9:57 AM • 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade, JMWTHS Staff

The secure school mode at Wright Tech has been lifted. Operations will continue as normal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

  3. It is a shame that who ever is doing this thinks its funny, with all that is going on in this country, and if it is found, whether underage or not should be punished and there name should be put on the block
