Of course she does. Back in the late 60’s, before they converted it to a Gold’s Gym, Lynn was “my” CIT at Camp Mahackeno. I worked days as a counselor and nights as a busboy at Mario’s. That came to an abrupt end when I was late to work at Mario’s (I wouldn’t leave my “post” at Mahackeno until the last camper had been picked up by their parents (“au pairs” had not yet been invented by Westport haute couture). Mario had a hissy fit and demanded that I choose between Mahackeno and Mario’s. At that point, I had a “Staples moment” (office supply superstore not the “most outstanding high school in the herstory of humankind”) and replied to Mario: “That was easy.” I never looked back. But I’m happy to see that the cute little Lynn Untermeyer who once helped me keep other cute children safe at Mahackeno is still taking cute pictures of Westporters at play.
Westport was once a place where cute kids could just have fun because older, even cuter kids (like I still am) had their back.

Why can’t YOU be more like him?” Good question.
These are all wonderful photos capturing some of the best of Westport at Compo Beach! My daughter was a lifeguard for several summers and did live to get a copy of the lifeguard chair photo. Does she sell her work?
