MAIN STREET HAS STAYED PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS FAR AS FACADE IS CONCERNED BUT CHURCH LANE IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. OH HOW I COULD REMINISCE ON AND ON . . ON ONE SIDE WAS THE GUNN BLDG) PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY SID CRELLIN, ANNABELLE LEWIS’ HOME WITH A RENTAL COTTAGE IN THE REAR , CHARLIE SPEER’S LAW OFFICE, A BEAUTY PARLOR AND THE FIREHOUSE NEXT TO THE “Y”. ON THE OTHER SIDE WAS THE RED CROSS BUILDING, HARRY SHERWOOD’S HOME. A COURTYARD LEADING TOWARD HIS POST ROAD PROPERTY HOUSING HIS LAW OFFICE [SHERWOOD AND GARLICK] A TYPEWRITER REPAIR STORE, A STORE THAT SOLD ANNABELLE LEWIS’ DOLLS AND THE WESTPORT BANK AND TRUST COMPANY. WORKING WITH BEN GUNN I MUST HAVE WALKED UP AND DOWN CHURCH LANE AA TRILLION TIMES.
