  1. Looking at that picture makes me a little homesick! I probably stood at that exact spot, where that picture was taken, many times over the decades. Once a Westporter, always a Westporter!

  2. Nancy Powers Conklin

My friends and I used to do that almost every day in the summer way back in the early 60s! Brings back so many memories!

  3. Lovely photo Lynn. As usual! The composition, with the kids facing in opposite directions, both in line with the distant tree, and the texture of rick-rack-like edging of stones and fencing, make for such an interesting shot.

  4. Even the lime green shorts and orangey-red hood, from opposite sides of the color wheel, set up an appositional tension that sets it all off just right. I guess I never get tired of these beautiful coastal images. Thanks!

  5. In 1967 (I think) I nearly drown in that channel. I wasn’t supposed to be swimming that day, as it was late September, and I promised my mother I wouldn’t swim. Jenny Lanouette’s dad jumped in and saved me. But I never told my parents, and they never thanked him.

Thank you, Mr L., on behalf of me and my parents.
