Happy New Year From Canal Beach

Canal is not as well known as Westport’s other beaches — Compo, Old Mill and Burying Hill.

But the view from Saugatuck Shores — captured here today by nearby resident Gene Borio — proves that it is just as beautiful as anywhere else in town.

Hey Dan. One of the great things about your blog is that it lets those of us who’ve moved away keep in touch with Westport. The pictures do an important part in that. How about doing a “Reverse 06880” someday when former Westporters post pictures of where they are, all taken on the same day? Let’s aim for the first day of Spring for Westporters throughout the world. What do you think?

      I really like that idea!

Say, just a single posted picture, per former Westporter? Otherwise, it could turn into a major “server overload”, no?

    • Fantastic idea! It’s on my to-do list! THANKS, and happy new year, wherever you are!

Staples ’76 living a hundred feet from the inland ocean, Lake Michigan, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. 15 foot waves and the surfers were out there a few days ago.

      • Sure! It’d be sort of like the 24 Hours on Earth/Life in a Day projects–Life in a Day Outside Westport. It’d be interesting to see where people have gone & what they’re doing.
