Urged on by 50 relatively warm (and very dry) spectators, the group raced into the water, for a brief New Year’s Day dip.

The 3rd annual Popkin Polar Plunge was a fundraiser for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
Organizer David Popkin says over $4,000 was raised to help find a cure for the autoimmune disease that affects 1.5 million Americans.
