Fund Set For Family Of Bedford Teacher

The Bedford Middle School community was rocked over the Christmas holiday by the death of Myles Tombline. He was the 38-year-old husband of Maria Tombline, a generous, warm-hearted, enthusiastic and talented Spanish teacher.

Myles’ obituary called him “a beautiful person, both inside and out. He was extremely loyal, possessed great integrity and was a friend to all. Myles simply had a very large heart. In addition to being an avid Jets and Mets fan, Myles enjoyed cooking of all sorts. His greatest passion was spending time with his sons, Ryan and Joseph.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with medical expenses, and education for the Tomblines’ young children. Donations have poured in — as have tender expressions of support, from Ms. Tombline’s students. Click here for the link.

A wake will be held tomorrow (Friday, january 5, 4 to 8 p.m., Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, New York). The funeral is Saturday (January 6, St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 31 Prospect Street, Brewster, New York).
