Lifeguards Return To Beaches Tomorrow

It took a few weeks longer than usual.

But this morning, lifeguard chairs were back at Compo Beach.

Soon — in a scene very familiar to former Compo guard Kathie Motes Bennewitz, who watched with joy and gratitude — training took place.

The only difference between now and years past was the face masks.

Starting tomorrow (Wednesday, July 1), lifeguards will staff Compo and Burying Hill beaches from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Everyone into the water!

Actually there are 2 differences – the face masks and the lack of social distancing. this does not send the right message to the town. MJ Cross

  2. So grateful that we have these very capable young men and young women willing to put themselves at risk to literally guard lives, serving and protectIng our community. To me that’s sending an incredible message of selflessness and courage.

Bravo! Thank you Compo Lifeguards! You rock!
