Maybe The Driver Never Set The Parking Brake. Maybe The Driver Just Can’t Park. Either Way …

… the driver did not have a handicap permit.

And this was not a quick zip-in-and-out-of-Barnes & Noble.

Thirty minutes after alert “06880” reader Merri Mueller took the photo, the car was still — bizarrely — there.

Picture of the license plate please?

  2. Karl S. Taylor

Based on the dozens and dozens of such posts each year, pictures of license plates will be of no use because the cops won’t do anything about the poor/illegal parking. The $200,000 a year salaried cops will tell you they don’t have time so the parkers will just keep on being offensive. If there is to be a solution someone has to find out just what can be done to curtail these offenses. The town could possibly hire someone to cite offenders and the fines could pay their salary. Eventually, scofflaws would stop offending and we’ll have to find something else to complain about, I’m sure there is something out there that would take it’s place.

Sounds like your little jealous Karl. Actually look at what a cops salary is without all the overtime and outside work.

    • I do not believe that private parking lots are patrolled and are within the responsibility of our Police Department. Please check facts before maligning the men and women who are working for our protection every day. The owners/managers of these lots can hire their own enforcement people.

Here’s another one at Coleytown elementary this afternoon:

  4. Maybe they thought that, by parking (badly) right on top of the handicap sign, nobody would notice. Wrong!

RE PIX OF LICENSE PLATES , , ,IF THE POLICE DON’T DO ANYTHING MAYBE THE DRIVERS NEIGHBORS,FRIENDS AND FAMILY MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING HELPFUL TO SAY.

  6. Matt Murray

Mr Taylor, for the most part all of these parking lots are private property. They are not under the domain of the Westport or any other police department.

Almost every time I go to the Chase bank there, someone is parked in the fire lane to do some “quick banking.”

perhaps the driver has an illness or a judgement issue. After all people voted for Trump. I find that far more outrageous then weak parking. Who knows what the reality is in the parking case.

    • Peter Gambaccini

No one has a more negative opinion of Trump than I do but honestly, I don’t think you’re helping matters much.

      • On the other hand, Peter, with the silence of our Senate on the President’s destruction of our Democratic Republic, ANY negative shout out about the bastard is important

If you live in Westport you’re probably not one of the lower 99%. So where did YOU spend those ill-gotten crumbs?

    • Jeff Arciola

So I guess your normal because you didn’t vote for trump. Another liberal Westport whiner. Look at the economy dum dum. I guess racist groping joe Biden is your answer. Oh maybe give everything for free Bernie never had a job sanders. Lowest unemployment in 50 years. Keep pushing the no proof Russian investigation. It’s not working. Keep voting Democrats they are doing such a great job for Connecticut. Lol 😂

Thats why Barr distorted the Mueller Report. Thats why Barr did not use the Mueller summary. That is why the president is blocking everyone from testifying. That is why so many people have left his administration. His wife has posed nude. Trump said if your rich and famous you can grab woman by their pussy. Trump and his bone spurs are very brave. . Soon we will have take your prostitute to work day as a national holiday. How many undocumented people are working in republican owned business today in Westport? Deli, massage, restaurants, markets, car wash, contractors, body shops, builders and their subs, amd yes those realtors who very well know that the homes they sell and richly profit off are built and repaired off the hard work of undocumented labor. Cleaning woman, baby sitters, cleaning men, painters, framers, landscapers, asphalt paving, our local farmers market, pizza stores, on and on. Even orange used undocumented labor in his business until he got caught.

I’m shocked that comments on a bad parking photo descend into political comment and that two presumed adults fall into name calling. How inappropriate.

    • Eric William Buchroeder SHS '70

“comments on a bad parking photo descend into political comment”??? Parking preoccupation is flying pretty close to the ground on its own. Almost, but not quite as “deplorable” as eavesdropping at the deli.

Trump derangement syndrome at its best

    • Eric William Buchroeder SHS '70

I’ll settle for derangement syndrome. Trump is just the most au courant example.

      • Richard Fogel

are you able to identify any more deranged then Trump? Please name them and the influence they have had on society, Thanks
