Lots of fond memories from that house. Used to launch my kayak there until one owner closed that entry off.
Growing up,I always joked:’when I write that hit song,I’m going to live in that house’…. ( I never wrote the hit song…but am glad to see this house is still
there..:-)
It’s great that 06880 allows me to keep in touch with the goings on in Westport from my home in Nashville. I love the photos of the the beach and the L.I. Sound and to read comments from people I remember. These photos bring back great memories. Westport is such a beautiful place! The reason I left Westport in 1980 was to follow my music career. Keep up the good work Dan!
Thanks, Barry. And thank you for all the joy you have brought me, my fellow Westporters, and anyone who loves real rock (and country) music over the years. I know you love Nashville. But Westport is like the Hotel California: You can check out any time you like. But you can never leave.
Hi Dan, lately my wife has been reading and enjoying your blog. Also likes the guess where this picture is? I’m the Property manager of Compo Mill Cove. As you know there’s going to be a park where the 2 houses on the walk over bridge is. Do you know or have the in on what there going to put there? Also I had a question you might know the answer. There’s a metal gate at the end of CMC that abuts to Sherwood Island. Do you know how long that fence has been there or who put it there? No one seems to know even the State. Any insight would emu have appreciated
