A winner.
Manger, while and because you can.
Wonderful shot
This will not be a roof repair. According to the posted bulletin it will amount to a complete removal of the roof structure. Under Westport Zoning regulations the remaining concrete floor and the walls surrounding it will in effect be a fenced in patio. The structure will no longer exist and can not be rebuilt without zoning approval for a new structure. I am not aware of a demolition permit which would have its own process as I believe the “structure” is more than fifty years old. It is possible that the building department has condemned the structure based on the consultants report which to my knowledge has not been circulated. All of that aside removal of the roof as planned legally eliminates a structure from that location and a replacement will require a new zoning application and possible ZBA and conservation approval
Thank you, Michael, for always being our eyes and ears at Compo Beach. This specific info should have come from the town (unless it did and I missed it).
Mike, will look into this on Monday.
Way cool.
