Wired!

Yesterday, “06880” posted Jennifer Johnson’s gorgeous photo of Bedford Square.

Sitting outside SoNo bakery, an alert “06880” reader noticed how lovely Seabury Center — across from the new construction — looked in the afternoon light.

She snapped this photo:

Gazing down Church Lane toward Christ & Holy Trinity Church, she shot another:

But as she peered closer, she saw what she believes is a new utility pole.

Suddenly, she wondered: Will this lovely scene soon become a jumble of overhead power and cable lines?

She looked back toward Elm Street, and saw this cluttered mess:

Last summer, she thought that all the work on Church Lane meant that utility wires would be buried underground.

Now she’s unsure.

And very, very worried.

  1. Wow that would be incredibly dumb not to put the utilities underground.

  2. That is not a new pole. It is an old pole waiting to be removed. If you look at the Google Street view at that location (September 2016 image), you’ll see the same pole with lines still installed. They have since been relocated to underground locations.

  3. I’D LIKE TO SEE ALL UTILITY LINES IN WESTPORT PUT UNDERGROUND THEY ARE A CONSTANT EYESORE

  4. One day hopefully some Westporters will finally understand how important and helpful the Bedford project was to the tax base. Maybe after a few more years as the state of CT financial death spiral continues, you will thank those the built the new project. I guess-maybe.
