It’s Nearly 100 Degrees. Guess What Main Street Store Owners Did With Their Doors?

Nope — they’re not open!

According to alert “06880” reader Rich Stein, earlier today every Main Street shop had its doors shut tight.

The air conditioning was kept in. And customers kept cool.

Good news! Nice to think they’re being responsible and responsive.

    I’m happy to hear this.

A couple of years ago, I asked that a Main Street door be closed on a very hot day. The manager refused because he had previously worked in a mall and now he wanted the fresh air he could get with the door open in Westport. He agreed when I said he thought he was more important than the planet. I haven’t shopped there since. (Store name available upon request.)

I hope that manager is back in a deep, dark mall. mmm
