Entitled Parking: A 4-fer

Today’s entitled parking shot comes from a medical complex.

Entitled parking

The driver of this car covers all the bases:

  • Pulling right up to the front door, even though it’s not a parking spot;
  • Forcing other drivers to pull around into the oncoming lane;
  • Blocking the stairs and
  • Blocking a handicapped spot.

Well done, Mr. (or Ms.) license plate 1AW-TN9.

(Just to be clear: No, there was no one in the car. And yes, it was parked that way for at least 10 minutes.)

    LOOKS LIKE 333 POST ROAD WEST , A MEDICAL BUILDING !

  2. A blatant disregard for people and the rules. “Sickening”

    Easy folks, it’s a Mitsubishi. It probably died there. As a buddy with Toyota’s regional technical department said at the NY Auto Show years ago: “Even Mitsubishi hates their transmissions.” 🙂

    I need to know the information here.
    I need to know whether it’s another obnoxious Westporter or a genuine emergency where the driver had to take in a sick or elder person, especially if it was only parked there 10 minutes.
    Don’t rush to criticize until you have the facts.
    If my guess is wrong. Go to it guys

  5. Linda Stein says what I was going to write. Perhaps the driver was so concerned about an ill person he wasn’t thinking of anything else but getting the person into the doctor’s office. If it was Starbucks, it would be different.

    All I can say is, I hope it was a true emergency!

  7. Could be worse. Could have MD plates.

    “Oh my, this is terrible!… Oh, the humanity!”

  11. I personally believe the best answer to this kind of entitlement parking (and if this person had mitigating circumstances, so be it, but we’ve all seen this kind of jackass stunt before so I’ll keep commenting for the sake of the children … oh, the children!) is low-tech, creative penalties. If found guilty there should be a relatively modest fine ($50.00) but if it is either a repeat offender or an absolutely grievous job (like blocking a handicapped spot) then the guilty party should have to have large magnetized signs applied to his/her automobile that declare horribly embarrassing qualities of the driver or incite violent reactions from other drivers (note these signs would have electronic contacts built-in to alert police if they’ve been removed or covered. These signs (mostly male-oriented because, let’s face it, men are the more common perp) could say:
    KING OF DOUCHE PARKING
    BETTER THAN ALL YOU HICKS
    STAY BACK 500 FEET: SPASMODIC COLON
    BIG MUSCLES = WITTLE WEE WEE’S
    GOTTA GO BOOM BOOM BAD!
    I HAVE 3 TOES (TOTAL)
    WAR VETS QUIT YOUR WHINING

    One or two years after enacting this change, illegal parking would decrease by upwards of 90%.

  12. Maybe somebody was having a baby, and they were so distraught they were not thinking of anything but that ? Or somebody was really ill? Or somebody was an entitled jerk who doesn’t care about anybody but their comfort…Who knows?

    Acceptable ONLY in the event of a medical emergency! Loved the Mitsubishi comment!

  14. Don’t like seeing privileged parking here, at the beach, or wherever.

    Really don’t like seeing dogs in parked cars during this heat wave. I waited fifteen minutes with one increasingly frantic terrier in a Honda in front of Olympia Sports in Compo Shopping Center until the owner arrived. I was just dialing the police.

  15. Daniel Katz

    I’m betting the driver had a damned good reason for parking there…no one does that kind of parking without a reason….

  16. Daniel Katz

    Not kidding at all.
    What would, other than emergency, garner such anti social behavior?
    There must be, after all, a limit to thoughtlessness.
