A few months ago I saw a picture of Westport Train Station and I all of a sudden remembered something I hadn’t thought of in many, many years. Back in the 60’s my brother and I often took the train into the city to visit our father and to attend sporting events. I can still remember Westport Station when you had to board the trains from the ground and walk up the stairs of the train. Then sometime around the last 60’s (can’t remember exactly) they added the platforms that are there today.
The very first time my brother and I took the train into the city with the new platform, WCBS TV was there filming. They were doing a story about the transformation. They filmed both my brother and I and asked a few questions of the few people there that day. I believe it was the next night we saw ourselves on the Channel 2 11 o’clock news! That was sort of cool…
amazing. Those white cloud like streaks are from planes leaving the new york area. It sets the mind to wonder where their travels are taking them.
