  1. I kind of grew up in some of these homes during my childhood. Make me want to cry..Oh well I guess that’s progress.

    Love this series of photos.

  3. Our home of more than 30 years became a tear-down. The replacement was a much nicer house with a pool and well-landscaped grounds, an improvement over our nice but conventional place. I felt very little nostalgia driving by the new construction. I would have been unhappy to see them putting on the addition I always wanted, or making other changes. A side note – we think our house might have been on the list of considerations for “Revolutionary Road”, but it was at the time we were putting it on the market so we never followed through.

  4. Amazing how similar all the “new” houses look!

  5. I like what the architect did for Compo Parkway and Danbury Ave. They harmonized the new structure with the old structure.

  6. I grew up at 4 Old Mill Road. Mom passed in 1995. Our “house of the miller” was torn down. 30+ years later, I wonder if it’s ready for the next iteration?
