Anne Levine writes:
The other day, I decided to start my taxes.
Every year I go on the town website. I re-learn how to navigate to the tax collector, and access documents I need for my accountant.
For some reason, after trying 3 different browsers I could get on the site, but could not drill down to what I needed.
I called the tax office to see if they were having a problem with the site. Dennis Corsalini answered the phone. He said he was not aware of any issues, but would check it out for me.

He tried, and was also blocked out of what I needed. He said it just might be a system overload, and to try again later. But he told me to call back and ask for him if I had any further problems.
Later in the day I could access most of what I needed, but was still missing one form. I called Dennis again.
He said he would wait on the phone while I got back on the site, and would walk me through the process to get exactly what I needed. Done!
Then I realized there was even one more document I needed, that was not available on the site. I told him I would come down to the office to have them print it out for me.
He said that was absolutely not necessary. If I told him what I needed he would access it right then, and email it to me — which he did.
I told him I was very grateful for all the time he spent with me, not only to teach me how to use the site but to get all my tax documents.
He said that was just his job, and he was happy to give me all the time I needed.
I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to work with Dennis, and how patient he was helping me get what I needed. He is my Unsung Hero today.

Couldn’t agree more. Dennis is a good man; kind, friendly, professional – and hard wired to help others.
Dennis is terrific. Great person to head the Town Clerk’s Office. We are blessed in Westport to have three of the most citizen-used departments, the Town Clerk’s Office, The Tax Assessor’s Office and the Tax Collector’s Office, staffed by wonderful people and headed by great leaders.
Dennis takes his job seriously and without hesitation. He is a real Westport Asset and a well-deserved unsung hero!
Anne Levine, that’s wonderful of you to write about the help you got from Dennis. I feel when people go the extra mile they should know that they are appreciated. Good for you
He’s a very kind man, who has helped people not only in the office but everywhere and everyday. That’s a Westporter I’m happy to know.
This may be my first comment since I started reading 06880 everyday since Dan started writing so much and so well generations ago. But I could not let lovely Anne Levine’s Wonderful comments about Dennis Corsalini go without me reinforcing Anne’s pleasure in dealing with Dennis. Dennis is a brilliant and kind and hardworking town employee who has never failed to help me countless times over many years. Fun facts: Dennis is also a ham radio operator and has extensive academic and work and hobby credentials in many unrelated areas. Don’t be fooled by his unassuming and friendly manner. He is a kind and friendly genius. Larry and Ruth Sherman

Dennis Corsalini is unquestionably a town treasure, and always came to our rescue when The Westport Woman’s Club had problems with our prior audio-visual equipment. He is so patient and knowledgeable with anything electronic and is always cheerful and pleased to help us. Thank you, Dennis and thanks to Anne Levine for identifying Dennis Corsalini as our Unsung Hero of longstanding.
