After all the wind and rain of the past 10 days, it took just a bit of snow to topple a large tree on Compo Road South, near the entrance to Baron’s South and Park Lane.
The road — a major route off the Post Road — is closed while crews remove the tree and restore power.

Too bad this town isn’t proactive with tree care. The tree came from town property. Feel bad for the homeowner that had their house catch fire due to the neglect. That tree was long dead.
This tree on town property should have long been removed! Where is the town tree warden ? There are several other trees on Thomas Rd that have been reported to the warden with nothing being done, guess we’ll wait till they fall cause another power outage.
Everyone should look around their neighborhood and note any dead trees, note location, take picture, and then escalate to town and or eversource both in writing and emergency call. Other towns constantly drive around and identify dead trees marking them for removal but some times they will miss a tree or big limb over power wires
