On Thursday, Americans will sit down to Thanksgiving feasts.
There will be turkey, football and naps. There should also be thanks. That’s kind of the whole idea.
Next week, “06880” will share some of the things our readers are thankful for.
Individually, they’re important. Taken together, they can provide a broad picture of “06880” — both our community here Westport, and our extended online one around the globe.
Please email 06880blog@gmail.com. Let us know what you’re thankful for this year.
Big or small; concrete or abstract; here in town or elsewhere — we want to hear from you. And please let us know whether we can use your name, or if you prefer anonymity.
We’ll post your “06880” thanks next week.
Thank you!

I’m super thankful we have Dan woog and 06880 to keep us up to date on everything that goes on in Westport!
I’m thankful for the new games I’ve learned to play and the new friends I’ve made playing. I’m also thankful for all I’ve learned from the DTC and the great people I’ve met there!
Dan, you are one of the things I am grateful for. You are such a great source of news. We would have no idea what was going around town without you. Thank you.
And just yesterday, I also felt grateful as I rode across the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen bridege seeing the blue ribbons. I was grateful that I live in a place without war, in a town that tolerates its citizens exercising their Constitutional rights.
Dan, what a great idea!
I’m grateful for politicians who answer e-mails and keep spending under control!
I think that turkey is just wonderful, that picture is great.
At my age I could be grateful for anything. But there is actually so much that I am amazed and grateful. And last week I became a great-grandfather.
The photo by William Webster of the turkey is fantastic. Thank you.
