Jeff Wiese is now on his third career.
For many years, he was an international banker. Then came his non-profit work, as CEO of Homes with Hopes and Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut.
Now he’s moderator of the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) — our non-partisan legislative body he has served on since 2007. That’s in addition to all his other volunteer efforts (Positive Directions, Christ & Holy Trinity Church, and much more).
It’s hard to condense that all into half an hour, but Jeff and I had an informative, intriguing conversation the other day at the Westport Library. Why does he do it? How does he do it? What’s it all mean for our town, today and tomorrow?
Click below for some fascinating insights on the RTM, and all of us who live here.

I love Jeff and his family. He has invested his life into the Westport community, and continues to extend his wealth of experience and intelligence to the benefit of others. Kudos, Jeff!
One of the nicest and most generous fellows on the planet. In addition, he has a very sharp sense of humor!!!!
Jeff, is a true gentleman and a real asset to this community.
A force for good! And quite skilled on the bocce court.
Thanks Jeff!
1 in a million!!
Jeff has been a good friend for over thirty years. One could not have a better friend! He is pillar of our community. A person who makes Westport a great place to live.
A past President of the Westport Rotary Club, he continues to provide outstanding leadership to the club. Until recently he was a key member of the Westport/Weston YMCA Board of Trustees serving as chairman of the Investment Committee
Undoubtedly, the most important aspect of his life is his family. Pat and he have three children and eight grandchildren spread between Darien and Hong Kong. The grandparents are very involved with their grandchildren.
Jeff, we are most blessed to have you and Pat as our friends and members of our community. As your auto license plates remind us, in Wieser, it is “i” before “e”.
I try to watch all of these (so interesting and a great addition to the blog!) and I think this was the best so far. Because it featured Jeff, one of the strongest forces for good in Westport, and also because he speaks so articulately about what makes our community special. I suggest that every real estate agent share this with clients who may be looking at neighboring towns in addition to Westport.
Jeff is a true Westport Gem!
Jeff is a class act. So proud, and grateful, of his contributions to Westport
We need more people like Jeff. Humble, dapper, sharp, humorous, incredibly intelligent, and his family members are exactly of that fabric too.
As someone who was so fortunate to spend time working with Jeff on projects at Homes with Hope, I can honestly say that if all of us were half as kind, generous, thoughtful, caring, intelligent, patient (I could go on with a MUCH longer list), our town and world would be a much better place…we can all learn a lot from Jeff. THANK YOU JEFF FOR ALL YOU DO AND CONTINUE TO DO! Grateful for the time we worked together.
