Elsa Is On The Way. Be Prepared!

Town officials say:

Tropical Storm Elsa will reach Westport early Friday, bringing heavy rains, inland flash flooding and high winds.

Due to recent rainfall and thunderstorms, grounds are already saturated. Expect flooding on roads that typically flood. Prepare for potential power outages and challenging road conditions. We urge all to plan ahead and stay off the roads on Friday (July 9).

Out of an abundance of caution, all Parks & Recreation Department camps and summer programs, as well as all Westport Public Schools Extended School Year programs and Continuing Education programs, will be cancelled Friday.

In addition, the Westport Center for Senior Activities has cancelled all. Home delivered meals will be delivered on a two hour delay. Senior Center staff can be reached at 203-341-5099.

I saw a whole bunch of bucket trucks standing by in the RR parking lot last night. Was in a rush or would’ve driven closer. Curious if they were private companies parked for the night waiting for work or under the retainer of Eversource/the town.

They are under the retainer of Ever source.

There are 200 of them parked here on Cape Cod near to where I live. It is because Eversource has become responsible for repayment to customers of time lost during a blackout.

I’m not sure if that applies to Connecticut as well as Massachusetts
