YE OLD WESTPORT BANK AND TRUST COMPANY. THOSE WERE THE DAYS WHEN YOU KNEW EVERYONE IN THE BANK AND THEY KNEW YOU. HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED
Beautiful. Brings back a flood of memories from another era.
That was the old Westport Bank and Trust company we here my dad worked. In the middle of the depression my grandmother went and had her fortune told. The fortune tell looked into her crystal ball and said, “I. See that very shortly your son will be walking on money. A month later he got a job as a teller at the Westport Bank and Trust Company. It wasn’t until he got back from the war that he became a photographer
My time check point for heading home to Evergreen Avenue to beat or meet my curfew back in ’69,’70 &’71.
Love it – about the only building I still recognize.
Great picture of the old Westport Bank & Trust / would be more enhanced with the American flag (on top of the building)
my Dad always called it the Westport Tank and Bust (Dad Joke)
Remember the saying on the side of the building?
“Westport, A Town of Homes…” Or something like that!!
“A hometown bank in a town of homes”
