Pic Of The Day #893

Isn’t it amazing that the human eye hardly ever notices overhead wires until there’s a dramatic lighting like this! But that’s a sorry bunch of wires – why are they hanging like that? Just think, one day all these wires will be located under ground – (so that drones don’t get tangled in them).
HOPEFULLY SOONER RATHER THAN LATER
It looks terrible and it’s only getting worse
We need to start getting all utilities buried.
They get put in pipes which are them encased in concrete. That prevents problems with tree roots and keeps them from corrosion.
Who remembers all the times that our electricity is off , due to downed wires .
We need to start the process.
Eversource has said how expensive it would be to get utilities underground
I have asked the electric companies how much it runs to pay costs to have endless crews work round the clock for weeks restoring Wedtport power during Sandy or the many other storms over the years. So far, the question remains unanswered.
Westporter s pat fortunes for generators
the great infrastructure promise.. Whose going to pay for the wires? Mexico?
Lovely and serene looking view coming from that end of town. I am sure there are those of us who try to get through the Post Road during the 4 pm-ish hours that wish the Town of Westport would do a traffic improvement program from Post Road W over the bridge to Post Road E. Much improvement needs to be done so that drivers adhere to the traffic lanes & obey posted signs, as well as the DOT deal with the school bus “mess” when they are parking the buses for the night. No one is tolerant or civil, creating heated and angry drivers, as well as people who drive off angrily and without a care for anyone’s safety or vehicle. Who can I address at the DOT? Am I just a frustrated senior trying to get home from work?
