STARTLING …
Thats a beautiful raptor
Btw Ospreys are not in the nest they have not been there for weeks. This is factual and true. Very sad. Sparrows have taken up residence..and sparrows are great avian friends as well but Ospreys are gone.
I was across the street at Westport Hardware on Tuesday April 24th and they were there.
Female was in the nest just barely seeing her head and the male was flying around and or sitting in the huge tree toward the back of Terrain property.
I was at Fresh Market late last week and spent some time watching the nest. After a few minutes of not seeing anything I realized that one adult bird was hunkered down (presumably on eggs) and was very difficult to see until it moved. Soon after other adult appeared and both were actively greeting each other. Other adult flew to nearby pine. Sparrows have been co-opting the nest for years.
I BELIEVE THAT MAY BE A RED TAILED HAWK LOOKING FOR A LITTLE NIBBLE TO CROSS THE PARKING LOT AREA THAT HE CAN SWOOP DOWN FOR A TASTY BREAKFAST
I love this but can’t tell if it’s smiling….but I am thanks for sharing.
I BELIEVE THAT IS A RED TAIL HAWK. ( bird of prey) Looking for a small mouse or unsuspecting squirrel.. for breakfast or lunch.
Thank you, Allison!
