Storm clouds gathered over Westport today — along with a tornado warning.
It never came. But the photo below — one of 3 taken by Jeff Manchester on Saugatuck Shores — sure looks like it could have been one.
Severe weather — including another possible tornado — continues through midnight.

I saw that same funnel forming too from my area in Norwalk. I’m on top of a hill a couple blocks north of exit 16 I-95.
Coast Guard reported seeing ping pong size hail along the shoreline in Norwalk.
National Weather Service coming to South Western Connecticut to investigate possible tornado
Watched it…Didn’t seem like much.
EF1 tornado touched down in Stoney Point, NY. National Weather Service is here in South Western Connecticut checking the area. There was reports of rotation and they’re looking at the damage more inland New Canaan area.

National Weather Service has been touring Fairfield County, Westchester and Rockland County New York. So far the last count was 16 (!!) tornadoes from Tuesday’s storm 9 in Connecticut alone. New Canaan into Norwalk where the trees came crashing down and closed the Merritt Parkway for a time. Norwalk on Scribner Ave behind Best Buy when 6 utility poles wires/transformers and trees were picked up and slammed to the ground. Thankfully no one injuried just property and car damage
Beautiful pics, The weather forecasts are 70–80-% wrong all the time. If you have kids who have no idea what they want to study, they should think about becoming a meteorologist you can make a great salary and can lie with impunity.
