Wow there was a time when these items would not have been available. I used to shop at the original Whole Foods store in Austin Texas. So sad!!
wow. 2 great tastes that never, ever, ever belong together.
well, not finding this appealing.
America, where Hummus comes in every flavor, except, Hummus.. 😉
This is why sewer system improvements are important.
Dan, please make it stop. Please!
Well, here’s the thing …
This isn’t as bad as it seems.
The problem, in my opinion, is that they shouldn’t call it “hummus” because the thought of chocolate hummus is ghastly.
This is – instead – a healthy dessert dip. There’s no garlic and olive oil in it, thank God.
The snickerdoodle version has cinammon and vanilla and coconut and the chickpeas are used as the base. It’s meant to be dipped into with apple slices, etc.
The brownie batter version has cocoa powder and coconut with, again, chickpeas as the creamy base – and it’s meant to be dipped into with strawberries or marshmallows, etc.
Again – think dessert dip. (Chickpeas are very often used in healthy baking.)
I haven’t tried it … but I might just out of curiosity. Low in sugar and devoid of harmful ingredients, I’m curious to see if they managed to make it high in taste.

Isn’t it wonderful, gluten free flavored sawdust at premium prices….P T Barnum would be proud. That label has more nutritional value than the contents…..
Quite the contrary … garbanzo beans and coconut do have nutritional value – although marginal in this instance. But remember: this is a dessert dip. Certainly, chocolate cake and a snickers bar aren’t nutritious, either.
As for the flavor, I haven’t tasted it, but apparently Mark Cuban thought they were delicious, which is why he invested half a million dollars in the company. [I’ve just been doing some research! 🙂
As a nutritionist, I would much rather my clients dip a handful of apple slices and strawberries into this, than have a bowl of ice cream.
All I can say is Ugh!
Really, who needs this as a dessert dip….or even at all?
It’s for people who do not eat dairy – or are trying to reduce dairy products.
Try them they are delicious. And they are called dessert hummus so not misleading. Thinking out of the box!
What is the big deal? If you don’t want it, JUST DON’T BUY IT.
I actually have been making a homemade version of the Brownie Batter Hummus for years (my kids dip fruit in it with breakfast!) and it’s AWESOME. I make it with black beans, cocoa powder, almond milk, cashew butter, and coconut sugar. Don’t knock it until you try it! Really!
