Shout out to Jocko Saltus too
THESE BUILDINGS AT 142-146-
148 MAIN STREET WHICH HAVE BEEN THERE SINCE THE ’40’s WILL NEVER BE REPLACED. TOO MUCH MAIN STREET HAS CHANGED .. .
Love it … one of the last, of the downtown Westport haunts, exuding the charm/architecture/history … still standing!
While you’re shouting out old names from Tavern…how about Pierre Nelly…anyone remember him?…Very handsome, charming man….served in the ski patrols in the Alps during WW 2….am sure many of my old lady friends remember…
My dear old dad,Frank Pomerantz, used to play golf with Pierre Nelly at the Patterson Club…(Dad used to laugh that ‘Pierre would move the ball on the putting green when he thought no one was looking’ 🙂
Later when I played piano at Dameon’s,next to Mario’s,the nice waiter,Horst,
(from Chez Pierre) used to come into the bar, there, after his shift..)
