A lot went on in Westport this past weekend.
Of course, sunshine and warm weather drew plenty of folks to Compo Beach. Strong winds were not enough to keep them away.
Fortunately, it’s not yet mid-summer. So there were enough grills for everyone — even though Parks and Rec personnel enlarged the protective area around an oystercatcher and her eggs:
Word is that she built her nest inside the grill above.

it never gets old…but a lot of it sure has changed….
This is one of my all-time favorite views in all of Westport. I remember often taking in this very scene, through the trees into the yacht basin, as my father & I would walk back to our car after an afternoon out on his motorboat.
