Westporters love Compo in all seasons.

Even — maybe, especially — during winter.

The crowds are gone. There’s a different — more raw — kind of beauty.

This frigid afternoon, alert “06880” reader Cheryl Scott-Daniels captured a side of Compo that real Westporters know and love.

    i totally remember this from when i was a child growing up in the 50’s and 60’s i westport. my dad and brother used to go sailing at the cedar point yacht club when it was still there….they called it frostbiting. we used to play on the icey jette while they were battling the winds and all. i remember one time they capsized right in the harbour. it was pretty exciting!!!!!!
