The 1st-ever “06880” party is just a week away.
And if you’re reading this, you’re invited.
Thursday, July 18 (6 p.m.) is the day and time. The far end of Compo’s South Beach — away from the cannons, near the boat and kayak launch, the best place to watch the sunset — is the place. (Still confused? See the aerial view below.)
Every member of the “06880″ (as in, this website) community is invited. We welcome frequent commenters and lurkers; people who want the new Saugatuck firehouse at Luciano Park, and those who want it next to Riverside Park; folks who have lived here all their lives, and those who moved here yesterday.
The tagline for “06880” is “Where Westport meets the world.” Next Thursday, that world comes to Compo.
Bring your own food, beverages, beach chairs and blankets. Then mix, mingle and enjoy the evening with the “06880” crowd.
There’s no charge. It’s a “fun-raiser,” not a fundraiser.

Dan, I wish I could attend, but I’m down in Florida and I plan to shop around and buy a few rugs on that particular Thursday. I’m hoping to get lucky and find a store going out of business so I can get a few bargains!.
Dan – Will folks from neighboring towns be given access to Compo (i.e., formerly Westport before moving east 15 miles)?

Unfortunately, Dan, we will be out of town. I so wanted to be there and just meet and greet people who’s names fly around on this site! And, to see you! I guess I will have to wait until next year if this will become an annual event. One can hope:)
Dan, I am a life westporter now removed slightly over to Southport without a Westport beach sticker. Can’t you talk to Kevin about letting us in? It’s after hours what’s the big deal? They do it for our reunions….just sayin’….
I asked. The response was that this is not a reunion, and this would be setting a precedent for other private parties. Sorry! Maybe you know someone in the area and can park at a nearby house…?!
Well, maybe next year it could be considered as a reunion!
Dan. Sad to say we will be away and not able to attend the ‘fun’raiser. It would have been nice to meet in person those that post, both agreeing and not. Know I wanted to be there.
