I refuse every “missing cat/dog” request (except Andy — hey, that was national news).
I didn’t do anything on the pit bulls last week, because everyone got the Red Alert.
But — for various reasons, as you’ll see — this one tugged at my heartstrings.
Here’s an email I just got from Betsy Phillips Kahn:
I ran into a woman named Donna. She lives at Compo Beach — the end of Norwalk Avenue, near Bradley. She is displaced after the hurricane, waiting on FEMA.
But she comes to her house daily to feed and tend her 2 cats. One has disappeared. It is so cold, and she was so worried. I told her I would look, and spread the word.
If anyone has seen a little black cat around the beach, please try to catch him and hold him until I see her. It won’t be that long. She comes every day.
You can call me at 203-222-9693, or email me: betsydesigns@hotmail.com.
She seemed so sad, and it’s freezing.
sometimes in the cold, they lose their sense of smell —

Hi Dan,
I would suggest the owner keep her garage door open enough so the cat can get it. Go to Paws in Norwalk and you can rent this trap to catch a cat …. You set it up in your garage, put a towel over the cage, put cats favorite food inside the trap, within 24/48 hours your cat will be caught. I have used it personally and was able to catch our Siamese cat who was an inside cat. It took 24 hrs and it was the best day of my life. Good luck!

You’re a good man, Dan…
I live in Donna’s back yard (well, our corners touch) and I am watching for
this lovely black cat who I always enjoyed seeing.
This post warmed my heart. You are a good man for helping Donna and her cat.
If it’s an indoor cat, take some of the litter from the box and spread it around the house so the cat can pick up the scent and find its way home. That’s what my vet’s office told me.
Any cat update?
