45 years ago this week. Good luck, kids!
30 years ago….seems like yesterday, and yet this is my second child graduating from Staples…Good luck to all of the graduates. Prove to the world what we all know you can be!
45 years ago TODAY! Find something you love to do and then figure out how to make a living doing it!
amen!
Great photos! Congratulations to the class of 2011!!
Not 45 or 30….Just 25…but it does seem like yesterday…and if history is correct (Dan you might know this)…my graduation was the last outdoor on the football field after that it has been an indoor affair.
PS I made the cover of the Norwalk Hour with Alfie Gwiliam
Outdoor graduations ended for a few reasons: uncertainty about weather meant indoor seating in the fieldhouse had to be done anyway, as a backup plan. Sitting in the broiling sun was tough on people, especially the elderly. Access to the football field was also difficult for many. And there was a sense that seniors were hard to control outdoors — there were several instances of drinking, blowing air horns, etc. I’m not sure when the move indoors was made, but it was probably about your time, Rich.
just 10 years ago for me. . .
