It’s often said that Westporters live in a bubble, disconnected from the rest of the world.
The other day, on a short stroll at Compo Beach, I heard the following languages:
Italian
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Russian
- Japanese
- Swedish (or perhaps Danish or Norwegian — it’s Greek to me)
- And of course, New York
I’m sorry, but just because Westporters travel a lot and that people of many cultural origins are attracted to the town does not indicate anything contrary to the fact that Westporters live in a bubble that is both comfortable and pressurizing.
