Photo Challenge #614

“06880” readers never fail to amaze.

I thought last week’s Photo Challenge — a snippet of a mural, bearing only the date “1936” — would stump even the savviest Westporter. (Click here to see.)

Shame on me.

Six readers quickly identified it as part of a larger work at Town Hall. When it was painted, the building was Bedford Elementary School. When Town Hall moved from the Post Road (now Massi Co restaurant) to Myrtle Avenue, the WPA-era art remained.

Congratulations to Pat Saviano, Seth Schachter, Sal Liccione, Robin Jaffee Frank, Brian Taylor and David J. Loffredo. Very impressive!

Today’s Photo Challenge is also part of a larger piece. If you know where in Westport you’d see this, click “Comments” below.

Unlike say Twitter, you can’t post a comment here without opening the thread so you see the prior comments. Makes you wonder about what’s going on with the posters.
