As we begin our nor’easter watch:
High tide last night brought seaweed right up to the Compo Beach parking lot.

Low tide was 7:25 a.m.
The forecast calls for continued rain today through tomorrow, with winds of 25-35 miles an hour (and higher guest).
Flooding is likely, particularly along the coast.
Meanwhile, the Parks & Recreation Department has closed all fields, parks, beaches and racquet facilities today.
Boat owners are responsible for securing their vessels. This includes:
- Use additional lines to secure vessels.
- Remove canvas, sails, Bimini tops, and enclosures.
- Remove loose items, valuables, extra fuel tanks, and fishing equipment.
- Charge batteries and ensure bilge pumps are functioning properly.

Earthplace staff — and the raptors — are ready to greet visitors again!
After extensive renovation, the great Birds of Prey exhibit reopens officially next Saturday.
It takes place during the Fall Festival (October 3, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.). A ribbon-cutting is set for 11:30 a.m.
