Pretty…. but all invasive phragmites. These have been progressively expanding on the Nyala property for the past several years, overrunning the native grasses and goldenrods in that big meadow. As the phragmites expand it directly reduces the biological richness of this amazing open space (fewer bugs, fewer birds, fewer small animals). I have been wondering why the owners haven’t been doing anything to stop this. The bigger it gets, the harder it will be to remove.
