Scott Bryce — the 1975 Staples High School and Staples Players graduate, who went on to a notable acting career (including 3 long stints as Craig Montgomery on “As the World Turns”), and a longtime Weston resident — died yesterday. He was 68.
Last year, he was diagnosed with esphogeal and stomach cancer.
Lucie Arnaz, a longtime friend, former co-star and fellow Weston resident, called him “a wonderful actor, a beautiful man and a terrific husband and father. … I will miss his eyes, his smile, his wit, his brain, his intelligence, his talent, his bravery, his laugh and his hugs.”
Scott was the son of actors Ed and Dorothy Bryce. He is survived by his wife Jodi Stevens and son Jackson. He and Jodi ran an acting studio in Weston.
A full obituary, with service details, will be posted when it is available.

I am so saddened to see this. He was so talented, kind and handsome. I am thinking of his family. Rest In Peace Scott 🙏
OMG, what a tragic loss! I knew Scoot & David from school, then met w Scott @ Amy’s Pub in NYC after “ATWT.” He will be sorely missed, pyrayers of healing, warm memories, TLC to his remaining family. Becky Frey
Oh no! What terrible news. Scott and I were classmates at Staples and we kept in touch over the years. He was an extremely talented actor and a kind soul who always seemed to remain grounded despite his fame. My deepest sympathies to his family.
Thoughts and prayers to Jodi and family. We lost a good one, Scott was a phenomenal actor and human being. RIP my friend, always will remember those days at Crossroads and our conversations.
So sorry to hear this. I knew him from UU Westport. Great guy.
The Bryce family is an amazing wealth of talent as well as intellect. I had followed Scott’s career although he was six years younger. His brother Phil was a Staples classmate and I will always remember his dry wit.
My deepest condolences to all dear to Scott. We have lost a wonderful person with wonderful talents
Wow! I just reconnected with him a couple months ago. I used to live next door to the Bryce’s the first year we moved to Westport in 1966 on Weathervane Hill. I babysat him and Dorothy took us both into NYC while she ran errands . She left us in a Game arcade on Broadway and took us out to lunch before coming home on the train. I had a crush on one of his older brothers when I was 12 years old 🙂
The Bryce’s were good neighbors and friends. So sorry to hear this sad news. My condolences to his family
oh no
he lived down down the street on Fairfield Avenue and we would talk about everything. He was incredibly smart with a great sense of humor and a beautiful wife. RIP Scott my friend. 💕
