“Then & Now”: #17

Dave Matlow’s photographic journey, from now-demolished homes to their replacements, continues.

Today’s images take us all over town: from Half Mile Common (off Cross Highway), to Guyer Road (off Hillspoint Road), and Narrow Rocks Road (off Compo Road South).

I know the “then” home on Narrow Rocks Road which sits on the corner with Compo Road South well. It belonged to the Brennan’s for many, many years and I still remember seeing it featured on the defunct Westport Now’s “Teardown of the Day”. The new build is kind of big for the acreage in my opinion. Keep ’em coming Dan.

  2. The last picture of the house on Narrow Rocks Rd. looks like it’s had three or four add ons. So a brand new house looks like it has add one! Where’s the front door? I can’t be too negative because the last time I was honest about my dislike for a house, I got a lot of negative comments! So let me just say the house it replaced is more appealing. Most likely, it was built in mid 1960s . (How’d I do this time?)
