Who doesn’t love “Hello, Dolly!”?
Staples Players sure did. The cast and crew dove into the 1964 musical rom-com, when they staged it as their fall 2002 production.
Former SHS media teacher Jim Honeycutt taped that, and all of Players director David Roth’s shows.
This week, in our chronological look back at highlights of past shows, we bring you that memorable “Dolly.” Click here or below to see.

I was President of the Players my senior year at Staples, and fortunate enough to be awarded a Best Actor Award. But these kids doing Hello Dolly are in a league of their own.
I am very impressed and look forward to many more years of superb entertainment.
Thanks so much for this. Our son, Sandy, played Horace Vandergelder and for the two weeks the show ran grandparents came from California, our daughter brought boatloads of college friends from Boston and the score of “Hello, Dolly!” played on a continuous loop. They were among the happiest weeks of our life. The show’s banner still hangs in our basement. As an aside, we joke that Justin Paul was Sandy’s conductor who just happened to go on to fame and fortune as a real Broadway star. Sandy is doing just fine as a lawyer!
