I can’t leave another comment in the last post, but if I could, I would have written this comment. In September 1977, in Ventnor, New Jersey, three miles away from Atlantic City, I bought a house. Eight months later gambling passed and my house’s value went up 95% in 24 hours! I knew a guy who had a car dealership on 2 acres and his property went from $250,000 to 15 million in 24 hours. He actually turned down 15 million.
The casinos ruined Atlantic City.
That said, a lifetime ago some colleagues and I were in Atlantic City for a meeting. Casinos generally have good food. We decided to try the special restaurant on the top floor (I think it was the top floor) in the Tropicana casino. Chef produced an outstanding meal. My dessert was an absolutely superb Grand Marnier souffle that I still dream about.
What about the saltwater taffy on the boardwalk?!
Oh yes. The original salt water taffy us wonderful. That’s two things….the salt water taffy and that Grand Mariner souffle. The taffy is available, that souffle is not. A mixed blessing.
A beautiful and cozy moment captured 📸
