As of yesterday, approximately 50% of eligible Westport voters had cast early or absentee ballots.
That means the rest of the town votes today.
Come on … let’s get to 100%!
The polls are open now (Tuesday, November 5) through 8 p.m. Don’t know where to vote? Click here to view a district map.

6:15 a.m. A timeless scene, at the Westport Library. The names change every election … but this cherished American tradition never does.

Hard-working election officials make the process easy.

One reward for voting. Another: Knowing you exercised your right as an American citizen, which generations have fought and died for. (Photos/Dan Woog)

Speaking of absentee ballots, assuming that voting is still a thing after this election, don’t forget to vote “YES” in that box on the top left. That way you won’t have to pick a semi-plausible excuse to get an absentee ballot next time.
Removing yard signs (I have had around seven removed) disrespects the First Amendment. In a town like Westport, which preaches diversity, equity and inclusion, I am surprised that embracing diversity of opinion does not seem to matter.
Conversely, I favor candidates who pledge, win or lose, to personally drive around on Wednesday and remove their own signs from public property.
Since I don’t really expect Kamala or Donald around here, this will be more important next year.
I get the Palm Beach Post and in today’s edition there was a story about a group of elderly women at a rally and a 17 year old boy with a Trump shirt punched a 70 year old woman in the face and sent her to the hospital. The cops caught him! #MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN (He actually punched more than one elderly woman.)
Has anyone seen a lawn sign for Hyde of the Cheaper Groceries Gas Party for US Senate?
If you all will allow me to make a comment about North Maple Ave. Sedgwick owned the house on the corner of Hyde Lane and North Maple Avenue. He owned all the property from that intersection all the way to Long Lots Rd. He started selling off the property around 1947. The builder named Bell built most of the houses across from Stahursky. I’m posting this because I know some people who live in this neighborhood comment here. (Backiels had 56 North Maple along with every property on which is now Hunt Club Lane.) I basically knew everyone on the street in the 1950s I hope you don’t mind me straying from the topic.
The “Economist” stated with 4% unemployment and GDP wages up to 85K$, America is great again NOW! Also, “Forbes” stated the S&P 500 has predicted accurately the winner of 24 of the last 28 presidential elections when it is doing well. It is at record high right now.
the economist I believe endorsed Harrris
Yes, The Economist did. Does that taint their statistical findings?
I hope everyone voted!
And now may the best woman win!
