Beautiful photo! (Makes me homesick, this time of year..:-)
The tennis ball tree!
Things have changed on this corner since about 1959, when I was a little girl living in what was once the Sherwood barn (remade into a tea house remade into a house) further up at 158 Hillspoint Rd. As I walked home from Compo beach, I remember walking by this corner which had bushes and trees between simple houses and under one bush by the road was a small spotted fawn. I walked over to it and sat down next to it for several delightful minutes before continuing my walk.
In the Summer of ‘65 four Compo Lifeguards and I ran 3 and 5 mile courses always wing up on that pavement coming back to Compo and an ice cold Chubbys Coke. Those were the days!
