Bike Westport — the non-profit advocating for bicycle and pedestrian safety — wants in-depth answers to Westporters’ views on biking (and driving) around town.
A new survey takes only 3 minutes. It may be the easiest to navigate, clearest and most well designed online survey I’ve ever seen. Click here to begin.

Today is Hook’d’s last day.
Last day for the season, I assume, though the sign below is ambiguous:

So hurry on down today, for $1 off all food. That means just $28 for a lobster roll!

Claudia Sherwood Servidio spotted today’s “Westport … Naturally” scene at the Cross Highway/Hockanum Road corner. Enjoy!

And finally … happy 46th birthday to Fairfield’s own John Mayer.
Many Westporters enjoyed his performance earlier this month at Bridgeport’s Sound on Sound Festival.
He was introduced by Governor Lamont, and told a story about how his father — the longtime principal at Bridgeport’s Central High — would confiscate students’ prohibited-by-school-rules Walkmans.
At the end of the year, he brought those that were not claimed home to Mayer and his brother. That was the future superstar’s introduction to music from around the world.

I would not be sad to see Hook’d close permanently!
I was on the Cape in August and the lobster rolls were running north of $35!
Hook’D needs to go. I have not stepped foot in there since they opened. So many other choices, and this corporate NYC overpriced micromanaged with no Town connection occupies the crown gem, our beach.
I miss Joeys. I miss how the encouraged and employed first timers in high school, their variety of novelty and nostalgic candy, ice cream and hot food.
Keep it small, keep it fresh. Time to let Hook’D off the hook.
Also, they lied in their presentation about using all compostable and biodegradable products.
Dan, is there a way for out of state ex residents to see the LWV’s voter information ? Thanks for the info ‼️
Just put in a Westport address.
Town website says Hook’d should provide concessions through Nov. 1. Not that I’m complaining, but sounds like we’re getting less than we bargained for simply with availability. When is their contract up?https://www.westportct.gov/government/departments-a-z/parks-and-recreation/beaches/beach-policies
Hook’d is the worst! $8.00 for a trouble hot dog. $1 more for kraut. Place is never open and food is Terrible! Bring back Joey’s please
My recollection is Hook’d had a 5 year contract starting in 2020. Does that mean it has one more year until it comes up? 2 questions: 1.) How much $ has the town gotten back from the agreement (since $ was the big reason for the switch from Joey’s) 2.) Have town officials commented on bringing the contract back for RFP next year? Wouldn’t want it renewed under the radar…
Clark thanks for saying that jrs got stand wanted it yes Joeys should have. Stayed the parks and recreation commission chair no I have emailed him and talk to him and we need to talk them yes they are breaking there lease and Jason Thanks I agree with you all I did not want them here from the beginning but at the time it was up the old chair parks and rec and the old bos and bof everyone email town hall if you want them gone from sal liccione
Thanks, Clark. Does anyone know why the 2020 bid results for Compo concessions aren’t posted? It’d be nice to know how much money (if any) they are paying the town over Joey’s and what led to the decision to evict Joey’s? Shouldn’t it be here? Is this another open Westport transparency issue? https://www.westportct.gov/business/bids/town-bid-results
Hook’s !!!! Exactly what they did to the town, like bunker fish, this is the WORST half way house in the country, Sunday morning at 9:00am NOT OPEN YET, get a food truck there we would be much happier, does anyone who signed these ridiculous contract’s monitor them, do they even see if the company is doing what they promised,, apparently not, the only golf course where you can’t get a coffee or breakfast sandwich in the morning, how about someone WAKE parks and rec up
