If you haven’t been to The Porch @ Christie’s, you might not have seen the brightly colored painting of flowers and bees on the side of the ice cream kiosk.
That was last week’s Photo Challenge. Lynn Untermeyer Miller, Cia Marion, Andrew Colabella, Lou Mall and Jennifer Zorick-Pressman all knew exactly where to find that artwork (which, as Lou noted, was created by 2015 Staples High School graduate Jessica Spector).
Here’s my follow-up challenge: If you haven’t been to The Porch @ Christie’s: Why not? The bakery/deli/and more (ice cream!) spot on Cross Highway is a popular spot not for coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner, but for meeting friends and hanging out.
Plus, they employ people with disabilities — and get their baked goods from Sweet P Bakery, which does the same.
If you haven’t been to The Porch on Cross Highway: go!
And when you’re there, check out the painting on the ice cream stand.
This week’s Photo Challenge is timely. If you know where in Westport you’d see this, click “Comments” below.

Based on the color of the walls, I guess Town Hall, 1st floor hall outside Registrar’s office.
Westport Public Library voting booth.
Well, Dan (and everybody), clearly it’s a voting booth.
A propos, considering the proximity and importance of voting.
If you think your vote doesn’t matter, consider that the recent selection for First Selectman of our town was decided by a matter of 16 votes. If 16 people had voted for the opposing Democratic candidate — or if 31 additional people had voted for him — we would now have a different First Selectman.
As far as the location of this booth, it’s either…
Saugatuck Elementary School Gymnasium
Greens Farms Elementary School Gymnasium
Coleytown Middle School Gymnasium
Long Lots Elementary School Gymnasium
Or…
The Westport Library.
My hunch, though I may be incorrect, is that it’s the Westport Library.
With Love,

Westport Town Hall.
Lower Level, Town Hall, Registrars office.
If you’re reading this,
Vote November 8th!
It is in the Town Hall, lower level near the registrar’s office. There’s just over 2 weeks until Election Day. As Andrew Colabella says above: VOTE!
Yes-it’s a portable voting booth for when the registrars believe there will a huge voter turnout, or when the lines get very long at the polling place.
