Roundup: Invasives, Found Ring …

“Invasives: Beauty vs. Beauty” is on display now at the Westport Library.

Westport artist Emily Laux says her photo exhibit addresses “the complex relationships of native and invasive plants within ecosystems, and individual notions of beauty in nature. The issue of biodiversity is an increasingly complex conversation. It is no longer a simplistic ‘natives vs. invasives’ paradigm.”

Her exhibit includes still lifes, using vintage jars and water to isolate species. The first part of a long-term project on biodiversity, it’s on view through May 31.

An “06880” reader found an Elsa Peretti ring near downtown. If you think it’s yours, email dwoog@optonline.net. I’ll put you in town with the reader.

And finally … happy 91st birthday to composer/lyricist extraordinaire (and 1950 Westport Country Playhouse apprentice) Stephen Sondheim!

That Elsa Peretti ring is even more valuable this week since the passing of Elsa Peretti just a few days ago.
