    That’s a barred owl. I surprised one dining on a red tail hawk in the driveway one night. They are quite common here and their call “Who cooks for you, who cooks for you all” carries long distances just after dusk.

    Thank you! We have been watching this owl. He/She apparently lives in a tree with it’s mate.
