Saugatuck Elementary School students are busily rehearsing “The Little Mermaid.” The curtain rises next Friday (March 13, 7 p.m.), with additional shows Saturday, March 14 (1 and 6 p.m.). Tickets are $5 at http://www.saugatucktheaterclub.org; $7 at the door, if any remain.

    I love the opportunity for children to perform and receive recognition. IO DON’T LIKE AT ALL the choice of play. In order for Ariel to turn into a human so that she can marry the Prince, SHE IS REQUIRED TO LOSE HER VOICE! WHAT??? Not the message that we ought to be sending to our girls.
