Going Bananas At Trader Joe’s

As panic about the coronavirus spreads, shoppers are stocking up on food. Who knows what a quarantine might bring?

At Trader Joe’s, that meant a run on bananas.

Well, some of them anyway.

The 19-cent ones are almost all gone.

But the organic, 6-cent-more bananas are there for the picking.

Maybe someone can tell me why most of the bananas I see in various stores are always so green – almost the entire surface.

Not only is Trader Joe’s busy, it seems that all area supermarkets are very busy, especially when it comes to stocking up on water.

Green bananas are good for you – they contain resistant starch which is a carbohydrate that resists digestion in the small intestine and ferments in the large intestine. As the fibers ferment they act as a prebiotic and feed the good bacteria in the gut. Go Green. 🙂
